Working from her home in Nashville, TN, Lush holds a BFA in Photography from SUNY Purchase and an MFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design. In 2014, she participated in the Arteles Creative Residency in Haukijärvi, Finland. Her artistic endeavors have garnered national and international recognition through various exhibitions and accolades. Notably, her project "Hold Me Tight" received an honorable mention in the 18th Pollux Awards, earned a spot on the shortlist for the Royal Photographic Society's International Photography Exhibit 164, and secured her position as a Critical Mass 2022 Finalist.
Chrissy is an American visual artist working in photography. Her work revolves around capturing ephemeral moments that provide glimpses into the profound realms of the subconscious.
Through her self-portraits, she employs performance to evoke intangible emotions, aiming to convey aspects of her inner self that are challenging to articulate in words. Even in the absence of her physical presence within the images, the scenes she creates serve as representations of herself. Blurring the boundaries between reality and constructed imagery, her work delicately balances surrealism and reality. Working independently, she meticulously stages scenes where she takes on the roles of both photographer and subject. In her series "Hold Me Tight," she skillfully appears twice within the frame, bringing to life a whimsical scenario where one figure is on the verge of bursting the other's bubble. Despite the seemingly spontaneous interactions, she meticulously crafts each moment single-handedly. Lush's overarching goal is to create art that not only captivates and unsettles viewers but also inspires introspection and self-discovery.
